Bike Path Sweep - planned for Saturday, April 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

LOCATION: We'll be starting together at the Scajaquada bike path, where it connects to the Riverwalk at Niagara Street (under the Scajaquada Expressway ramp). From there, we'll split up and head up and down the Riverwalk path and up the Scajaquada bike path.

There is a lot of broken glass out there, and it's time to sweep it up. Bring your broom to a bike path near you, and let's sweep our bike paths back to safe and fun riding conditions.

Depending on turnout, we may need to organize larger groups who gather in the same bike path areas, but at this planning stage, people should start at a bike path near their own house and work their way down the nearest path.

The attached PDF poster can be downloaded, printed, and posted where people will see it, if you'd like to help spread the word. Bike Path Sweep Poster Thanks!

late start, but some progress

This morning, as we were going out the door, we found that my youngest's bike had a flat tire (from glass on the bike path on our Wednesday afternoon ride, perhaps?). So instead, he rode on the bike taxi in the enclosed canopy with our brooms, dustpans, garbage bags, etc.

We must have missed any others who were sweeping, because we got there a bit after 10:00. We started up the bike path along Scajaquada Creek toward Tops. I think we got all the glass on the bike path between Niagara Street and Grant Street.

Did anyone go down the Riverwalk bike path?
